Curriculum Vitae
Jeff Jarvis is the Emeritus Tow Professor of Journalism Innovation at the City University of New York’s Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, a Visiting Professor at Stony Brook University’s School of Communication and Journalism, and a fellow at Montclair State University's Center for Cooperative Media.
He is the author of seven books, including The Gutenberg Parenthesis and Magazine (both Bloomsbury Academic, 2023), The Web We Weave (Basic Books, 2024), and upcoming, Hot Type (Bloomsbury Academic, 2026). He will edit a new book series for Bloomsbury called Intelligence -- AI and Humanity. Jarvis is the cohost of two AI podcasts: Intelligent Machines and AI Inside.
In his journalism career, he was president and creative director of Advance.net (online arm of Advance Publications), creator and founding editor of Entertainment Weekly, TV critic for TV Guide and People magazines, and Sunday editor and associate publisher of the New York Daily News.
